Homes to be fast-tracked in Northshore Brisbane

Up to 10,000 homes are set to be fast-tracked within the Northshore Hamilton Priority Development Area (PDA), including on the former site of the proposed Brisbane Athlete Village.

This continues the delivery of the Queensland Government’s commitment to one million homes by 2044, giving more Queenslanders a place to call home.

In response to community feedback and the Queensland Government’s 2032 Delivery Plan, the precinct’s long-term growth strategy has been revised to bring forward homes ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Six development-ready sites are earmarked for market release in the next six months – delivering over 10 years’ worth of forecast housing supply in line with demand.

The amendment to the Northshore Hamilton Priority Development Area (PDA) Development Scheme will align it with the 2032 Delivery Plan and is in response to community feedback to remove red tape and regulatory burdens, reducing the cost and time of delivering new homes.

To further support the plan, over $68 million is also earmarked in 2025-26 to unlock development-ready land faster by delivering critical catalyst infrastructure.

Overall, more than 270 homes are already under construction within the Northshore Brisbane precinct. Over 500 Silverstone Development apartments are either under construction or planned, with two of these developments being recently approved by EDQ and one recently starting construction.

More details regarding the proposed Development Scheme are available here. The community is now invited to have their say as part of a six-week consultation period until 19 September.
