What We Delivered and What’s Next
This month, EDQ hosted over 160 industry and government representatives to share updates our progress on housing and industrial land supply across Queensland.
Some key outcomes presented:
- 8,000+ homes and lots approved in Priority Development Areas (PDAs) in 2024–25, including 3,000 in the last quarter.
- 324 hectares of industrial land released, supporting jobs and commercial growth.
- Two new PDAs declared — Mount Peter (Cairns) and North Harbour (Moreton Bay) — unlocking over 22,000 homes.
- $150 million in trunk infrastructure funding announced to support delivery of 30,000 homes in Waraba and other PDAs.
- New online Development Assessment portal launching 3 November, improving application tracking and response times.
Major announcements include:
- Former Visy site (South Brisbane) — 4,000+ homes, riverfront public spaces, and mixed-use precinct.
- Northshore Hamilton — six sites releasing in early 2026, delivering 10 years’ worth of housing supply.
The forum featured an interactive panel discussion reflecting on recent experiences between industry, councils and EDQ. Partners shared that EDQ’s customer-focused approach is enhancing collaboration and fast-tracking development outcomes.
