Land Use Planning and Infrastructure

EDQ provides land use planning, infrastructure planning, and technical engineering services to guide and facilitate development within Priority Development Areas (PDA). Our functions include:

  1. Plan making and urban design to establish the policy objectives and statutory frameworks for assessing development applications, as well as practice notes and guidelines that support their interpretation and implementation.
  2. Infrastructure planning to design, coordinate, and fund the delivery of key infrastructure required to support urban and regional development in PDAs, and management of catalyst funding programs to bring forward development.
  3. Development assessment and pre-lodgment services to guide development proposals as per Development Schemes and Guidelines created as part of plan making and infrastructure planning.

EDQ’s planning and infrastructure teams work in collaboration with applicants and communities to facilitate the creation of sustainable, integrated, resilient, and attractive places where people want to live and work. This approach not only supports immediate development needs but also ensures a lasting legacy for future generations through strategic and well-coordinated planning and infrastructure delivery in major growth and urban renewal areas in key parts of Queensland.
