Introducing the New Economic Development Board

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is excited to announce the appointment of our new independent, skills-based Economic Development Board. Selected through a rigorous and comprehensive process, this diverse group of highly skilled leaders will play a pivotal role in guiding EDQ’s strategic direction and ensuring robust governance.

The Board’s commitment includes:

  • Increasing the Supply of Diverse and Affordable Housing: In line with our expanded mandate, the Board will focus on delivering more housing supply across Queensland, including new social and affordable housing.
  • Driving Sustainable Economic Growth and Development: The Board is dedicated to setting the objectives, strategies, and policies that will propel Queensland’s economic development through innovative and sustainable initiatives.
  • Collaborating with Government, Industry, and Community Partners: By fostering strong partnerships, the Board aims to build vibrant, resilient communities throughout the state.
  • Implementing Best Practices: Ensuring excellence in corporate governance, financial management, and sustainability remains a top priority.

We are proud to introduce the esteemed members of our Board: Brendan O’Farrell (Chair), Alison Quinn (Deputy Chair), Michael Carey, Chris McCluskey, Julie Boyd, Graham Fraine, Gail Black, and Gail Jukes. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and expertise to EDQ, positioning us to achieve our goals and drive positive outcomes for Queensland.
