Key details

The Fitzgibbon Priority Development Area (PDA) has been developed into a residential community that includes significant bushland area and open space, while being close to transport networks.

It covers 295ha in the northern suburbs of Fitzgibbon, Carseldine, Bald Hills, Taigum and Deagon.

It is located 12km from the Brisbane CBD.

The Fitzgibbon PDA was declared on 25 July 2008.

Development Scheme

The Development Scheme is the regulatory document which assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling land development within the PDA.

The Fitzgibbon Priority Development Area Development Scheme commenced on 24 July 2009 and was amended on 3 December 2021.

Development assessment

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) assesses development applications for this PDA.

All development applications are assessed against the Development Scheme.

Infrastructure

Funding and building infrastructure is key to facilitating development within PDAs.

The Fitzgibbon PDA Development Charges and Offset Plan (DCOP) accompanies the PDA Development Scheme. It identifies relevant infrastructure charges, how these charges are calculated, levied and administered, and the trunk infrastructure required to service the PDA.
