Unlocking Industrial Land to Fuel Queensland’s Economy

To drive regional growth and support Queensland’s vital industries, Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) has commenced the next phase of development at the Coolum Eco Industrial Park.

The Stage 2A expansion will unlock 18 hectares of high-impact industrial land in the northern Sunshine Coast, delivering 10 new lots - up to 2.4 hectares in size - at a time when demand for larger industrial sites continues to outpace supply.

Strategically located just five minutes from the Sunshine Motorway and Coolum CBD, the precinct offers 24-hour operational potential (subject to council approval), making it ideal for businesses with diverse and complex needs – from advanced manufacturing and logistics to clean-tech and construction supply. By bringing forward serviced, ready-to-build industrial land, EDQ is creating new opportunities for both small family-owned businesses and major enterprises to expand, innovate and create local jobs. Whether supplying Queensland’s housing pipeline or powering emerging sectors, Coolum Eco Industrial Park supports long-term economic growth across the region. Independent economic analysis estimates the Stage 2A development will contribute $65.1 million annually to the regional economy and support around 440 ongoing jobs. When complete, the estate will comprise 31 lots across all three sub-stages of Stage 2.

As the Queensland Government’s land use planning and development agency, EDQ works to unlock complex land, coordinate investment, and deliver vital infrastructure. Coolum Eco Industrial Park is a clear example of this mission in action – helping to grow the economy, back businesses of all sizes, and deliver a better lifestyle through a stronger regional economy.
