Boggo Road Cross River Rail

Key details

The Boggo Road Cross River Rail (CRR) Priority Development Area (PDA) was declared on 2 October 2020.

The PDA was declared at the request of the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA) to assist with the delivery of the CRR Project, including future redevelopment within the health and knowledge precinct either side of the new central cycle and pedestrian bridge.

The Boggo Road CRR PDA is approximately 39ha. It accommodates knowledge, technology, and health related uses in a transport rich environment. These uses support the PDA’s continued focus and investment in health, science, innovation, research and education services.

Development Scheme

The Boggo Road CRR PDA Development Scheme is the regulatory document which assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling development within a PDA.

The Boggo Road CRR PDA Development Scheme came into effect on 4 November 2022.

To support the Development Scheme, the Kent Street Movement Corridor Guideline was also prepared, providing guidance about necessary upgrades to the Kent Street Movement Corridor.

The proposed Boggo Road CRR Development Scheme was publicly notified between 23 February – 6 April 2022.

Submissions were considered and a submissions report was prepared to summarise the submissions, provide information about the merits of submissions and the extent to which amendments have been made to reflect submissions, and detail changes made in finalising the Development Scheme. Development assessment

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) assesses development applications for this PDA.

All development applications are assessed against the Boggo Road Cross River Rail PDA Development Scheme.

Infrastructure

Funding and building infrastructure is key to facilitating development within PDAs.

The Boggo Road CRR PDA Development Charges and Offset Plan, accompanies the Development Scheme. It identifies infrastructure required to service the PDA, development charges and how these charges are calculated, levied and administered.

The information contained within the Infrastructure Plan Background Report was used to inform the infrastructure plan and is included below as supporting information for reference purposes only.
