Weinam Creek

Key details

The Weinam Creek Priority Development Area (PDA) is in Redland Bay and includes the Weinam Creek Marina, located at the intersection of Banana and Meissner Street.

The total area of the PDA is approximately 42ha, including 36ha over land and nearly 6ha over water.

The purpose of the PDA is to reinforce Weinam Creek as a community focus and a regional gateway to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands including Macleay, Lamb, Karragarra and Russell Islands.

Development will include opportunities for mixed use and medium density residential dwellings.

The PDA was declared at the request of the Redland City Council on 21 June 2013.

Development Scheme

The Development Scheme is the regulatory document which assists with planning, carrying out, promoting, coordinating and controlling land development within the PDA.

The Weinam Creek PDA Development Scheme commenced on 29 May 2014.

Development assessment

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) assesses development applications together with Redland City Council.

All development applications are assessed against the Development Scheme.

Infrastructure

Funding and building infrastructure is key to facilitating development within PDAs.

The Weinam Creek PDA Development Charges and Offset Plan (DCOP) accompanies the PDA Development Scheme. It identifies relevant development charges, how these charges are calculated, levied and administered, and the trunk infrastructure required to service the PDA.
