Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) partners with industry and government to attract partnerships and investment – unlocking projects for the benefit of all Queenslanders. EDQ empowers our partners by removing barriers to development so together, EDQ and its partners can unlock homes and industrial opportunities at scale and pace.
Submit a proposal
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) welcomes feedback from industry and stakeholders on potential sites that could help fast-track housing and industrial development opportunities. By partnering early, EDQ aims to align transaction models, infrastructure sequencing and delivery timing with market conditions to unlock better outcomes for Queensland.
We encourage industry professionals to submit ideas for potential future sites via EDQ’s website. If you know of a site that could be activated for housing or employment uses, we want to hear from you.
Proposals should involve land that is:
- Owned by the Queensland Government
- Surplus to its original purpose
- Suitable for housing or capable of supporting housing outcomes
- In need of activation or enabling infrastructure, and
- Supported by Council as a preferred planning pathway.
Where relevant, EDQ may also consider whether an area could benefit from a Priority Development Area (PDA) or Provisional PDA (PPDA) declaration to streamline planning, remove barriers and support delivery at scale. If you believe a site may require this pathway, please include this in your submission for consideration as part of EDQ’s assessment process.
Together, we can identify and unlock opportunities that support Queensland’s housing supply, industry growth and long-term economic development.
Latest opportunities
EDQ regularly brings government-owned land to market to accelerate housing supply, unlock employment precincts and support investment across Queensland. Opportunities are released throughout the year and reflect changing market needs, infrastructure readiness and project-specific requirements.
Current and upcoming opportunities may include:
- Land suitable for new housing supply
- Sites that support industrial, logistics or advanced manufacturing
- Mixed-use or renewal precincts
Each opportunity varies in timing, scale and delivery model. Interested proponents can view the latest releases here and register their interest to be notified of future opportunities as they become available.
