Clinton industrial estate development underway

Economic growth June 9, 2025

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is strengthening Central Queensland’s industrial sector and creating new economic opportunities through the development of the Byelle Precinct at Clinton Industrial Estate.

The precinct will deliver 27 serviced lots zoned for medium-impact industry, ranging in size from 4,500m² to 11,000m². Once fully developed, it’s expected to support over 1,230 ongoing jobs, with more than 70 construction jobs created throughout the delivery phase.

A strategic boost for regional industry

EDQ is committed to growing regional economies, strengthening supply chains, and backing the businesses that power local communities. By unlocking strategically located industrial land that the private sector has been unable to deliver alone, EDQ is helping regions like Gladstone remain competitive, attract investment and retain skilled workers in a changing industrial landscape.

The Byelle Precinct is designed to attract a broad mix of regionally significant industries – from manufacturers of building materials that directly support Queensland’s housing pipeline, to freight, logistics and advanced manufacturing enterprises. These industries play a critical role in building a more self-sufficient and resilient regional economy.

Located minutes from Queensland’s largest port, the precinct is ideally positioned for efficient transport, enhancing Gladstone’s capacity to accommodate demand while reducing reliance on distant supply chains. The availability of serviced, industrial-ready land will enable more businesses – from local suppliers to national operations – to scale within the region, keeping the benefits of growth local.

This is part of EDQ’s broader commitment to catalysing economic development across Queensland – working in partnership with local government, industry and community to deliver precincts that support long-term resilience and economic diversification.

Delivering outcomes for Queenslanders

EDQ’s delivery of the Clinton Industrial Estate aligns with the Queensland Government’s objectives for the community: growing regional economies, backing small and family-owned businesses and supporting vital industries across the state.

Gladstone-founded Golding has been appointed lead contractor – returning to the region after eight years for this significant project. On-site work is now underway, following preparatory works in February.

Through precincts like Clinton, EDQ is delivering long-term value for Queenslanders by creating the right conditions for business to invest, grow and thrive.
