Your team – Corporate Services
The Corporate Services team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes that achieve EDQ’s strategic objectives. The team works across the following areas:
- Legal services and commercial structures
- Corporate governance and compliance
- Company secretariat
- Integrity and ethics
- Internal audit and enterprise risk management
- Legislative oversight of Economic Development Act 2012
- Corporate planning and performance
- People and Culture
- Marketing and Engagement
- Communications and Media.
Your contribution
As Principal Governance and Board Officer, reporting to the Director, Governance, you will support the effective operation of the Economic Development Board and ensure adherence to the highest level of good governance, ensuring the effective operation of the Board through the adoption of policies and procedures and providing advice and implementing good governance practices including clear accountabilities and decision-making frameworks.
Key duties include:
- Lead the delivery of high-quality, confidential administrative and secretariat services for the Economic Development Board and its Committees.
- Provide sound advice and implement good governance practices, including clear accountabilities and decision-making frameworks, related to the functions of the Board and relevant legislative requirements.
- Oversee the development and ongoing management of Board-related charters, register, policies, processes and procedures, adhering to any applicable legislation, regulations, and delegations.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to monitor and evaluate Secretariat services, identify risks, issues, and opportunities, to ensure the Board adheres with its statutory obligations
- Lead the end-to-end management of the annual calendar of meetings.
- Work closely with the Chair and CEO on the development of agendas, coordination of papers and timely circulation of meeting packs.
- Ensure accurate records of meetings and activities are kept in line with relevant legislation, including minutes, actions and decisions.
- Monitor member terms and renewals and facilitate recruitment and induction to the Board and its Committees.
- Manage budget and expenditure for the Board and Committees and ensure adherence to policy.
- Effectively and proactively support relationships between the Minister, CEO, Executive team, Board and Committees relevant to emerging opportunities, issues or risks, for the effective delivery of services to meet strategic and operational priorities.
- Organise and facilitate professional development of Board members, where appropriate.
- Provide input and participate in the preparation of annual Strategic and Operational Plans.
- Assist in implementation of the Governance Framework, including compliance and risk management.
- Ensure the annual report is compiled and distributed.
- Manage the Board Secretariat function.
