Stakeholder engagement

At Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), we are dedicated to building strong relationships with our community and stakeholders.

Our engagement efforts are designed to support EDQ’s strategic priorities – giving Queenslanders a place to call home, enabling economic growth and creating liveable communities. We foster trust, collaboration, and transparency, ensuring that voices are heard and valued throughout the lifecycle of our projects.

We work in partnership with stakeholders to shape Priority Development Areas (PDAs), planning frameworks, and project delivery that unlock homes, activate land and deliver infrastructure aligned with community needs.

To achieve this, EDQ uses a mix of in-person and digital platforms to provide  flexible, inclusive engagement opportunities. Whether through webinars, accessible development plans, or ‘meet a planner’ sessions, we aim to connect meaningfully with diverse audiences across the state.

Our engagement strategies reflect best practice and are designed to support two-way communication. We actively seek feedback and  ensure that community and stakeholder input informs our planning and decision-making.

Why stakeholder engagement matters

Stakeholder engagement is central to EDQ’s people-centred approach and is key to delivering outcomes that benefit Queenslanders:

  • Social Impact: Involving communities builds trust, strengthens local connections and fosters a sense of belonging.
  • Economic Benefits: Aligning development with stakeholder needs attracts investment, creates jobs and delivers opportunities across Queensland.

By valuing input and working collaboratively, EDQ drives outcomes that enhance the social and economic well-being of Queenslanders. Together, we can unlock housing, enable growth and create liveable communities for Queenslanders.
