Tony Sowden

Mr Sowden is a Queensland legal practitioner with over 40 years of experience spanning corporate law, governance, commercial advisory services, and not-for-profit organisations. Mr Sowden has built a practice focused on corporations and organisations law, governance and corporate advisory, commercial and property transactions and agribusiness. He has held senior partner roles on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane, and has served as company secretary and general counsel across a broad range of public and private entities.

Mr Sowden currently serves on the boards of the University of the Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Grammar School, and is Chair of Sunshine Coast Waterways Authority. His deep experience advising councils, regional organisations and community bodies makes him a trusted voice on governance, risk and strategic direction.  Mr Sowden holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and is an Associate Member of the Governance Institute of Australia.
