Shaun Ferris

Mr Ferris holds extensive leadership experience across the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on Queensland’s resources and infrastructure portfolios.
Joining the Queensland Public Sector in 2017, Mr Ferris has held a variety of senior roles. Most recently, he has served as Deputy Director-General of State Development at the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, Assistant Coordinator-General for Industry and Infrastructure Development at the Office of the Coordinator-General (OCG) and Deputy Director-General of Georesources at the Department of Resources.
With more than 12 years’ experience across the global mining industry, Mr Ferris has lead initiatives that have improved performance, productivity and organisational outcomes in both operational and strategic leadership roles, bringing a broad perspective to industry and economic development.
Passionate about Queensland’s future prosperity, Mr Ferris is a strong advocate for diversifying the state’s economy through regional growth, industry development and stronger supply chains. He is committed to leveraging Queensland’s natural resource strengths to create new opportunities, support sustainable economic growth and enhance the resilience of communities and industries across the state.
Mr Ferris holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental Engineering) from Griffith University.
