The Office of the Queensland Government Architect helps government departments and local councils deliver an enhanced urban environment for Queensland by providing leadership and strategic advice on urban design, procurement, heritage and the built environment.


The Office of the Queensland Government Architect provides specific and general advice for Queensland Government and local councils on built environment, urban design, procurement and heritage issues across a range of projects including:

Brisbane River Ferry Terminals
Commonwealth Games Village, Gold Coast
Yeerongpilly Pedestrian Bridge.


We are involved in the facilitation and promotion of a range of industry and public events, forums and exhibitions that support the architecture, landscape architecture and urban design professions across Queensland.

The Deputy Premier's Award for Urban Design highlights the critical role of good urban design in shaping Queensland and how collaborative relationships can lead to the successful development of the built environment.
